Dancing With SculptureDancing With Sculpture

Her last lover was a sculptor
And except for the feeling behind his pieces
He was as rigid as the scrap and steel
He crafted people from.
They broke up and divided their items
Before a planned engagement
And a honeymoon in Africa
Came to pass.

It has been a year since the split
And cleaning the blood stain off her jeans
As he gave a loose critique of each piece
Hung on the kitchen-diner wall.
There was no embarrassment as she stripped
And ran a sink of water.
As she applied stain remover he had seen
Her unconditional university offer in an open drawer.

With the look in his eye and the technique
Of hi

My face is changing.
I feel it when pressing fingertips
Into my cheekbones
And where my bottom jaw
Meets the twice pierced ear.
It protrudes with clenched teeth –
In anger; in awe; in hiding tears in public.
The muscle comes and defines

It is steady and familiar,
taking strength while we rest.
I am surrounded by its serenity
with the constant time it keeps

Once they answer to passion's call,
Does the demon rise or the angel fall?

undermined the very heart
of the bedrock where we saw it start.
Winter caused the soul to say
an audible wish for a different day,
Without the strength to go away
it's come to this so here we stay.
Learn To BiteThere are people out there
who will take your
haphazard romance,
and your fragile
everything.
They will take it in
like a stray animal
or a five dollar bill
and keep it in their
pocket;
until you are spent-
starved.

Some homicides are not recorded
as they should be.

Next time someone
picks you up
and holds you close,
I want you to
(I need you to)
BITE.
-Then look them in the eyes and say:

taste like; either from a kiss

I loved it. The image gives that cold feeling but if you are looking at it after you read the poem, the green that is there, gives it that "just after the rising" feeling. It does not over take over the rest of the image for me.

Don't know if it would work or not but if you rendered the whole thing in blues, with a small pool of red ember colors towards the back with a faded trail upward. Don't know if it would work or not but it might be something fun to play with.

Regardless, you did a wonderful job with both! :)

While personally I don;t think the photo matches the tone of the poem, I rather like them both.
