This is a milestone for me: My first landscape photo uploaded here, taken with my new Nikon D90. All other landscape photos in my gallery have been taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ18.
I bought the Nikon about two months ago, from the money my grandfather and grandmother gave to their grand children as a surprise gift. I have been too busy to go to the forest since though, so this morning was the first time I tried the camera with landscapes. These photos feel quite special to me, since my grandfather passed away last week. That's also why this 'first' photo is a bit more soft and less dark than my usual style.
--- Post-processing: I upped the contrast, reduced the noise and slightly darkened edges.
My photos are NOT stock. This means I do not want them to be used in any way. I don't mind them being used as a reference for a drawing/painting though: please visit this link for the rules nelleke.deviantart.com/journal…
(No, this is not about Slenderman. Comments that contain nothing but a reference to this dear fellow will be hidden.)

There is a certain coolness, and hopefulness, and a complete lack of forboding (that appears in some of your more-magical scenes) which is very refreshing--a fitting memorial scene for your grandfather.
