Majestic by Nelleke Majestic by Nelleke
Update: Less purple :)

Again the ruins of Armadale castle, this is the other side of the gate from my previous photo :) I used different colours for this one though.

Armadale Castle has been abandoned by the Macdonalds in 1925 and since then has fallen into ruin. It's amazing how fast it happened, the stairs you see in this photo used to be situated in a great hall, but as you can see most of the walls are gone (I wanted to show a photo of how it looked but I can only find it via google and not open the image itself... But if you're interested you can search the words 'armadale castle interior', it's the first image :boing:). The garden around the castle is gorgeous by the way, such old trees!

wow, something surrealistic is what your photos all have in common, as if they are taken in another world..

Such a lovely photo! The dark walls contrast nicely with the white stair rails. The color scheme of this is awesome! I love old places :+favlove:

interesting contrast between the ancient grey stone, and the decidedly more modern looking white of the steel work in the background.  Of course, the stonework from the early 1900's was probably intended to look a lot older.

Heh...  They don't build castles now like they did 500 years ago.   ;-)

(Have the gardens gone feral, or are they still maintained?  I can see either one still being beautiful...)

That's the mystique of a location like that with grand detailed Architecture being enveloped by the Natural World around it. You can feel the History by shooting what generations saw, great shot.

Mmm, it does look majestic. The leaves look so rich. They seem to be the only colour in there.
